An der Universität Wien findet am 28. und 29. Mai 2026 ein Workshop zum Thema „Life After Death: Feminist and Queer Perspectives on the Global Now” statt. Die Absicht des Workshops ist es, feministische, queere, anti-rassistische, dekoloniale und ökologische Forschungsperspektiven auf aktuelle Krisenerscheinungen sowie auf „possibilities of renewal“ miteinander ins Gespräch bringen.
Neben dem öffentlichen Keynote-Vortrag von Eva von Redecker zu „‘Rage against the dying of the light.’ Fossil fascism and foreclosed futurity” umfasst der Workshop die folgenden 5 Panels zu „Schlüsselthemen unserer globalen Gegenwart“:
- Illiberal Biopolitics? Family, Gender, Social Reproduction, and the New Radical Right
- The Demise of Feminist Promises? Queer/Feminist Entanglements with neoliberalism and nationalism
- Life After Liberalism? Feminism, Neoliberalism, and the Politics of Abandonment
- From Caring to Careless Democracy? Approaching Care through the Lens of Democracy—and Democracy through the Lens of Care
- Feminist Futurities and Futures of Feminisms
