Economic Underpinnings of Social Innovation, Special Session, Yorck, ISIRC 2015
There has been a considerable increase in public interest in social innovation over the last year, which calls for conceptual reflection by economists, sociologists, political scientists and philosophers. This panel invites papers on the conceptual foundations of social innovation and its place and implication for the political economy of regions, nation states and supra-national entity such as the EU. We welcome papers that reflect on social innovation drawing on theories of power, of justice and of institutional change. Empirical work is welcome as long as it addresses conceptual questions of the political economy of social innovation. Stream Chairs: Alex Nicholls, Judith Terstriep, Rafael Ziegler.
