Unter anderem sprechen Ayse Saktanber/Binnaz Saktanber zu „Occupy Gezi: From an Uprising to a Social Movement?“ (20.11) und Nivedita Menon „Transforming Commonsense, Reworking Democracy“ (29.01).

The Frankfurt Research Center for Postcolonial Studies (FRCPS) is delighted to welcome you to the Angela Davis reading group in preparation of Angela Davis’ visit as Guest Professor at the Cornelia Goethe Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (CGC) in December 2013.
We will read select texts of Angela Davis and discuss the influence of her work for Critical Race theory, Feminist Theory as well as Critical Social and Political Theory. A particular focus will lie on her intersectional analysis of the co-constitutiveness of capitalist, racist and sexist forms of oppression as well as on her fight against the prison industrial complex and mass incarceration.
The reader will be made available online and it is expected that you have prepared in advance the texts to be discussed. The link to the reader will be sent to all that have registered.
Please register in advance by writing an e-mail including your name and institutional affiliation / year and main subject of studies to frcps.mail at googlemail.com.
