Einladung zum 27. Berliner Forum, Fr. 18.11./ Sa. 19.11. an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg
Das Berliner Forum ist ein Netzwerk zur Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik und besteht bereits seit mehr als zehn Jahren. Im Forum kommen Promovierende und Postdocs in einer offenen Arbeitsatmosphäre zusammen, um ihre Forschungsarbeiten zu diskutieren.
27. Berliner Forum für Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik
Schwerpunkt: Unternehmens- und Wirtschaftsethik, CSR und Nachhaltigkeit – Unterschiedlichen Diskursen auf der Spur Ort: Leuphana Universität Lüneburg, Centre for Sustainability Management Datum: Freitag, 18. November und Samstag 19. November

CSR hier, Nachhaltigkeit da und Unternehmens- und Wirtschaftsethik dort – normative Fragen wirtschaftlichen Handelns werden unter all diesen (und noch vielen anderen) Stichworten und Themenbereichen in teilweise unterschiedlichen Diskursarenen verhandelt.
Ziel dieses Berliner Forums ist es, Promovierende und Habilitierende aus diesen Arenen zusammenzubringen, um Gemeinsamkeiten, Ähnlichkeiten und Anschlussmöglichkeiten, Unterschiede, Diskrepanzen und Widersprüche zwischen diesen verschiedenen Themenbereiche zu diskutieren.
Geplant sind ca. neun Vorträge, die Hälfte davon mit deutlichem Bezug zu Nachhaltigkeit. Für jeden Vortrag steht insgesamt eine Stunde für Vortrag und Diskussion zur Verfügung.
Eine Kooperation mit der Zeitschrift für Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik (zfwu, www.zfwu.de/.) vorgesehen: Für einige vortragende Promovierende und Postdocs wird es die Möglichkeit geben, eine Kurzdarstellung ihrer Projekte in der Zeitschrift zu publizieren.

In Kooperation mit der LMU München sind einige namhafte Akademiker und Praktiker geladen, die an drei Tagen im Mai und Juni im Radialsystem V (sic!) zum Thema “Kulturen des Wirtschaftens” referieren.

Besonders der zweite Veranstaltungstag ist hier für Theoretiker interessant: an der Diskussion zu den Wechselwirkungen zwischen Kultur und Wirtschaft beteiligen sich unter anderem Thomas Pogge, Brigitte Young, Karl-Heinz Brodbeck und Eva Illouz, so dass ein breites Spektrum von politischer Theorie bis zu kritischen Wirtschaftswissenschaften vertreten sein wird.

An den Konferenztagen wird es ein dem jeweiligen Thema zugeschnittenes Kurzfilmprogramm und Kunstinstallationen geben. Tagungsort ist das durch Sasha Waltz bekannt gewordene Radialsystem V, eine der derzeit spannendsten Institutionen für moderne Kunst in Berlin.

Robert Lepenies promoviert im Rahmen der Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies. In seiner Dissertation beschäftigt er sich aus philosophischer Perspektive mit Fragen des Freihandels und der Weltwirtschaftsordnung.

The future of the global economy is very much an open question.

Especially since the financial crisis, debates about economic topics have

resurged, in public life as well as in academia. Economic institutions and

systems can be evaluated from a wide variety of points of view: economic,

sociological, psychological etc. In this summer school, we will look at

these institutions and systems from the perspective of contemporary

practical philosophy, especially moral and political philosophy. We will

focus on the contributions from these fiels to debates about key economic

institutions (such as the market, labour relations, taxation and others)

and more comprehensive economic systems (such as capitalism and socialism,

the welfare state and basic income society). We will pay close attention

both to the different normative frameworks and values that can be used for

such evaluations (justice, equality, freedom, quality of life, etc.), as

well as how to deal philosophically with the institutional details with

which economic reality confronts us.

The aim of the course is not only to offer an overview of contemporary

debates about ethics and economics but also a critical examination of

different approaches. In addition, we want to provide an opportunity for

PhD students to reflect on the methodology in their own research projects

and a forum to discuss how to deal with the controversies about

methodology in contemporary practical philosophy. The course will be of

interest to PhD-students from different disciplines (philosophy,

economics, political science, law, etc.) who are working on normative

evaluations of economic mechanisms, institutions and systems.

students is required. Participants are expected to study the reader

Tutorials with the teaching staff are part of the program. All

participants will give a presentation on (part of) their PhD project.

The summer school is sponsored by The Netherlands School for Research in

Practical Philosophy (OZSE), which will cover part of the costs for

participation of all the participants. Participants pay a contribution of

450 euro (based on a number of 4 nights). Private room, all meals

included. PhD-students of the Netherlands School for Research in Practical

Philosophy pay the reduced price of 350 euro. The participants are

expected to make their own travel arrangements.
